How GRV AI™ Built a Digital Twin of Vienna's Mobility Network

A digital twin is only as good as its data. Here's how we built a real-time simulation of Vienna's entire mobility network — and what it enables.

Vienna has one of the most complex urban mobility networks in Europe — combining trams, U-Bahn, buses, cycling infrastructure, e-scooters, and car traffic across 415 square kilometres.

The GRV AI™ Digital Twin ingests real-time data from hundreds of sensors, transit APIs, weather feeds, and fleet telemetry to create a living simulation of this network. Every 15 minutes, the twin is resynchronised with ground truth.

This enables city operators to test interventions before deploying them — rerouting a tram line, closing a street for an event, or modelling the impact of a new cycling lane — without any real-world risk.

GreenRide Vienna AI e.U.™ operates this twin entirely within Vienna's sovereign infrastructure.
